Primary Location: NT – Robertson Barracks. Position: HVAC Technician, permanent full‐time, minimum 6‐year contract.
About the Role
Support Property and Asset Services for the Australian Department of Defence across South Australia and the Northern Territory. Provide operational maintenance, repairs and services to HVAC, refrigeration and temperature‐controlled environments in Defence buildings and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct regular preventative maintenance of HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, refrigeration systems and controlled temperature environments.
* Diagnose and repair faults in HVAC systems to maintain optimal performance and prevent failures.
* Install new HVAC systems and components, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
* Monitor and adjust system controls to ensure efficient operation and compliance with temperature settings.
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
* Respond promptly to emergency repair requests.
* Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve complex issues.
* Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
Required Qualifications
* Current Australian Refrigeration Mechanic Trade qualification.
* Experience with chilled water systems – chillers, air handling units and BMS control systems.
* Proficiency using diagnostic tools and equipment.
* ARC‐Tick Refrigerant Handling Licence.
* Restricted or Open Electrical Licence.
* Valid driver's licence.
* Australian citizen, able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
