Infrastructure Services Officer - Property Services
An exciting chance exists for one dedicated and innovative candidate to temporarily join the Property Services Unit. The successful Infrastructure Services Officer will be appointed to our Strategic Advisory team. This unit is ideally looking for candidates with a background in state government property-related matters, town planning, and property development, to provide site-based investigations and due diligence as part of the future planning for new and existing schools. The Strategic Advisory team is involved in forward planning to support the education needs of growing communities. This temporary chance will be available until 30 June 2026, unless otherwise determined.

About Us
Infrastructure Services Division (ISD) provides quality infrastructure services to the department. ISD is a highly motivated, energetic, and results‑oriented team focused on delivering flexible, innovative, and responsive infrastructure solutions. ISD contributes to teaching and learning outcomes in schools by aligning Property Services with whole-of-government initiatives and departmental priorities. Core functions include policy formulation, strategic planning, program formation, project delivery, and performance reporting.
About the Role
The Infrastructure Services Officer is responsible for identifying, assessing, and acquiring strategic land parcels to meet growing education demand, including the development of recent schools and the expansion of existing schools. The team covers a broad range of property functions, and you will be required to provide strategic advice in relation to property development, site due diligence, as well as identifying site opportunities and constraints. This includes undertaking detailed due diligence and stakeholder engagement to identify and de‑risk priority sites and strategic opportunities to facilitate the delivery of the expanding education portfolio.
As The Infrastructure Services Officer, You Will
- Provide operational advice and support to various areas of the department on a diverse range of property‑related matters, facility planning, investment, and portfolio operations that ensure the implementation of quality management practices.
- Analyse, assess, and recommend land acquisition options for a new school site or the expansion of an existing school.

About You
- Strong research skills and well‑developed written skills, including report and brief writing.
- Awareness and understanding of relevant legislation and policy that impact a Queensland Government property portfolio.
