**Your new company**
This Federal Department is responsible for implementing policy which will support a better life for thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability, and their families and carers. You will join the Research and Evaluation Branch, which is responsible for ensuring that agency policies, practices and priorities are informed by trustworthy and robust evidence.
**Your new role**
This role will involve reviewing large scale research programs, conducting qualitative research, and developing/administering clinical assessments.
As Assistant Director, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of an internal service that conducts research and evaluation using a range of methods to inform Agency decisions. You will work closely with a team of experts to identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions that are both efficient and cost-effective. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Planning and conducting workshops and other events with key stakeholders including participants, their families and supporters, service providers, professional bodies and other stakeholders.
- Using co-design methods that support the development of clinical and non-clinical assessments and health surveys.
- Developing and implementing stakeholder communication plans that support co-design and engagement activities.
- Writing clear concise reports that communicate research findings, conclusions and implications for policy and service design.
- Providing evidence-informed advice for developing and reviewing policy and guidance for the access and planning pathways.
- Working collaboratively with key stakeholders and advisory panels, reviewing research tools and products, delivering high quality strategic directions and insights
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be considered for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen and will demonstrate:
- Health disability sector stakeholder engagement experience
- Experience in using a range of sophisticated methods, including qualitative methods and embedding the participant at the heart of the work
- Demonstrated ability to work with external and internal stakeholders to scope, deliver and govern the evaluation
- Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end formative and impact evaluations which have informed change
- Desirable - health professional qualification/experience in workforce development or engagement
