The Role
Reporting to the Mineral Acid Plant Team Leader, your duties will include ensuring production volume and quality in accordance with set targets, perform housekeeping duties, resolve operating issues as they arise, maintenance notifications and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
You Will Also Be Responsible For
* Conducting safe field operations
* DCS control room operations
* Participate in departmental safety programs.
* Monitor plant condition and intervene if necessary.
* Perform minor maintenance on plant and equipment if competent to do so and assist in maintenance activities to aid in the timely restart of the plant.
* Participate in execution of start-up and shutdown of plant when required.
* Phosphate Hill FIFO role roster – roster may vary for the first 3 months while in initial training (e.g. 8/6 days only or 4/3 days only or 8/6D7/7N rosters).
About You
We're seeking individuals who embrace challenge and are committed to maintaining a high level of physical fitness, while also demonstrating a passion for continuous learning and development in the field of Chemical Manufacturing.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess the following skills and attributes:
* You must be committed to positively contributing to our safe, inclusive and high-performance culture
* Physically fit and able to perform daily manual handling activities
* Experience in a Process Technician role in a continuous processing environment, or; a trade qualification, and motivation to transition to an operations role.
* You will be flexible, conscientious, quality oriented and able to function effectively in a small, self-managed team environment.
* Previous experience within the chemical or gas processing industries would be advantageous, as would boiler and turbine operational experience.
* Proactive and results-driven, you have a strong focus on safety and quality work and thrive in an environment where you will be required to build strong working relationships with people at all levels.
* Must have excellent communication skills.
This role will require motivated self-directed individual with a strong desire to grow and develop within the business.

Phosphate Hill
Southern Cross Manufacturing Operations - Phosphate Hill consists of an integrated open cut mine and processing facility, producing high quality ammonium phosphate fertilisers for domestic and export markets. The production facilities include ammonia, phosphoric acid, granulation and beneficiation plants. The plants are fitted with the latest technology and feature state of the art manufacturing processes.
The Granulation plant consists of the reactors and solids handling equipment necessary to turn gaseous ammonia and liquid phosphoric acid into high quality Granulated MAP and DAP fertiliser.
