We’re looking for an experienced and personable Cellar Door Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of our cellar door at our small, family-owned winery in Margaret River. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves wine, enjoys leading a team, and takes pride in delivering warm, memorable guest experiences.
About the Role
The Cellar Door Supervisor is responsible for the professional operation of the cellar door bar service, ensuring customers are served in a timely, courteous, and compliant manner. The role includes hands-on bar service, supervision and training of food and beverage attendants, maintenance of cleanliness and safety standards, and delivery of high-quality wine tasting and hospitality experiences consistent with brand standards. You will be responsible for:
· Greeting, seating, and serving customers promptly and with excellent customer service, delivering high-quality wine tasting and hospitality experiences
· Taking drink orders and preparing, presenting, and serving wine and tasting accompaniments
· Supervising, training, and supporting food and beverage attendants, providing on-the-job guidance and allocating daily duties
· Leading by example through hands-on participation in customer service and cellar door operations
· Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the bar, cellar door, tables, and service areas throughout service
· Collecting, cleaning, storing, and maintaining glassware, bar equipment, wine service tools, and POS equipment
· Ensuring compliance with Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), licensing, food safety, and workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements
· Operating POS systems, managing cash handling, completing end-of-day reconciliation, and monitoring wine, beverage, and stock levels
· Assisting with events, special tastings, busy trading periods, and other incidental duties as required
About You
The successful candidate will have:
· Previous experience in a bar, cellar door, hospitality, or food and beverage supervisory role
· Demonstrated experience supervising and training staff
· Strong customer service and communication skills
· Ability to prepare and serve beverages in a professional hospitality environment
· Current WA Approved Manager’s Licence
· Current Food Handler’s Certificate
· Sound understanding of RSA, WHS, and hospitality compliance obligations
· Availability to work weekends and public holidays
· Driver’s licence
