We're seeking a lawyer with experience in property and franchise law to assist a busy legal team in Perth, along with their other regions. This is a contract role for an initial period of 5 months, to provide in‐house legal advice to key stakeholders but not limited to working on franchise transactions, documentation, plus property and leasing matters. This opportunity is a full time opportunity in a hybrid working arrangement.
You'll join LOD (Lawyers on Demand) and be seconded to our client, an iconic Franchisor that owns four iconic Australian food brands. Our client's team of industry experts support over 400 small business owners, operating over 620 restaurants.
Our client strives for excellence for its employees, franchisees, restaurant teams, suppliers and consumers alike. Embedded within their legal team you'll be right at the heart of the action such as:
* Drafting, reviewing and negotiating franchise agreements and ensure all terms comply with code.
* Assisting with commercial or retail presmises leases, ensuring compliance with WA leasing laws and linking the properly to the franchise agreement.
* Working closely with internal & external stakeholders and providing legal advice where applicable.
About you
* Experience from a leading law firm and an in‐house environment;
* Exposure to franchise agreements, disclosure documents, leasing agreements, due dilience and advice.
* Strong contract negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams;
* Experience in property law, drafting, negotiating commercial lease agreements.
* A proactive, solutions focused approach and the ability to thrive in a fast moving environment.
