Location: Brisbane Remuneration/Benefit: $77,180 plus super About the role: Aurizon is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer with proven Chris21 experience to join our team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. This role has been created to support the team during a period of internal movement and will suit someone who is confident working in a high‑volume, large‑employer payroll environment. You will join a collaborative and knowledgeable payroll team where accuracy, compliance, and customer service are paramount. This is a hands‑on role for someone who can hit the ground running with Chris21 from day one. What you’ll be doing End‑to‑end payroll processing activities using Chris21 Accurate and timely entry of timesheets, allowances, reimbursements, and study assistance claims Responding to payroll enquiries from employees and leaders via electronic ticketing systems and phone Providing clear advice on employee pay, leave, and entitlements Ensuring strict compliance with payroll governance, controls, and legislative requirements Maintaining accurate employee records and supporting audit requirements Contributing to continuous improvement across payroll processes and procedures About you Demonstrated, hands‑on experience using Chris21 (mandatory) Previous experience working in a payroll function, preferably within a large or complex organisation Strong attention to detail with the ability to process high volumes accurately Sound understanding of payroll compliance and employee entitlements Confident communicator with a strong customer service focus Well‑organised, deadline‑driven, and able to manage competing priorities Self‑motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team What we offer you: At Aurizon, we support the development and growth of our employees.
