Our Chapter Area Lead is a leader of leaders focused on the management and development of Chapter Leads, designing the chapter area capability roadmap and supporting the implementation of our strategic workforce plan, and collaborating with Crew Tech Leads & Centre of Expertise Leads to deliver on customer outcomes.
As a Chapter Area lead for BB Tech Enablement, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
* Leading the world class engineering teams to deliver modern, future ready technology and data, including microservice-based Service Domains API's and Data Products on the cloud, optimised for Agentic and Gen-AI
* Building the workforce of the future, with global skills. Support Crews in the development of the strategic workforce plan (skillset and capability) to drive attraction, retention of talent and to build technical depth in our crews.
* Embed a customer centric DevSecOps culture, supported by world-class platforms and automated controls, within the domain and Chapter Area.
* Driving the adoption of AI Powered Engineering capabilities within the Engineering community.
* Build and lead a high performing team by ensuring the learning, development and growth of Chapter members to ensure delivery of business and customer outcomes.
* Define and lead the capability uplift approach for the Chapter Area with a strong focus on Chapter Leads.
* Ensure consistency through standardisation of tooling and methodologies within Chapter Area continuously improving technical standards, processes and practices within Chapter Area.
* Foster a positive people experience for all Chapter members by building culture, connection and community; Role models a culture of engineering empowerment, autonomy, psychological safety and constructive challenge.
* Collaborates with Crew Tech Leads to set trackable goals e.g. OKR's that enable Crews to deliver on their strategy and mature capabilities
* Leverages metrics to inform continuous improvement opportunities that increase the effectiveness of the Chapter; seeks feedback to inform and leverage metrics
* Facilitate the constructive resolution of conflicts which may arise both internally & externally to the Chapter
* Collaborates across Chapter Areas and with the Engineering Practice to create a culture of sharing and learning and maintains technical experience commensurate with their specific Chapter
* Contributes to Group Engineering Practice by coaching and mentoring and raising the bar for the discipline across the organisation
Skills And Experience
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;
* Experience leading large, virtual, teams in a scaled agile environment
* Experience consulting with senior executives
* Experience in leading a DevSecOps culture and operating model; Background in Full-cycle Engineering
* Experience leading Engineering teams who work with the following technologies - .Net, Next.js, React, Kotlin, Swift, AWS (Lambda, Fargate, ECS), API's (REST & GraphQL), Github actions
* Highly developed Leadership, people and communications skills; sound Financial control and reporting skills
* Grounded understanding in AWS or Azure Cloud architecture and integration, demonstrating experience in deploying and managing cloud-based solutions
