Company Cogent Communications is a multinational, Tier 1 facilities-based ISP offering high speed Internet access, private network services, IPv4 address leasing, optical transport services and data center colocation services. Cogent operates an all-optical IP network backbone in 228+ markets and provides end-to-end service delivery and network monitoring. Compensation structure includes base salary and commissions.
Starting / Initial Pay Range: $19.23 - $43.26/hour or $40,000 – $90,000/year. Commission details: 50%-150% of one month's MRCs; 1/12 of one-time NRCs; 1/24 of Burst. Tenured base range: $19.23 - $52.88/hour or $40,000 - $110,000/year based on achievement of tenure and performance increases. Offers within ranges depend on experience, education, skills, certifications, and business needs.
Responsibilities
* Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed regional/global sales territory across IP Transit, content creators/hosts, carriers/wholesalers, and Netcentric segments.
* Directly prospect via calling, email, and other outreach; qualify and generate opportunities by engaging with key decision-makers.
* Complement prospecting with on-site customer meetings as needed.
* Use consultative selling to identify current and future connectivity solutions.
* Position Cogent services leveraging the global network footprint (commercial/retail buildings, carrier-neutral hotels, data centers, colocation facilities).
Qualifications
* 3-8+ years of B2B sales experience in telecom with collocation, wholesale, and data transit/transport.
* Proven track record of hunting, quota attainment in direct B2B sales.
* Strong prospecting, qualification, and ability to generate new business.
* Excellent oral and written communication; ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with revenue deadlines.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and a CRM is a plus.
* A college degree is preferred but not required.
Work Environment This is an in-office position five days a week to support success, mentorship, training, and coaching.
