The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Florida Tech invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in computer science beginning August 2024. Preference is for the Assistant Professor level, but other levels will be considered. Required qualifications for the position include an earned Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or closely related field, evidence of the ability to develop and sustain an active research program, and a sincere interest in quality teaching, both at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Applicants from all areas of computer science and related fields will be considered, including, but not limited to, Software Engineering, Secure Software Design, Secure Software Development, Software Design, Software Testing, Software Verification and/or Digital Engineering.
The department has ABET-accredited programs in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Software Engineering, and receives significant active research funding from several government agencies and industry partners.
Florida Tech is located on Florida’s Space Coast in Melbourne, one of the nation’s fastest growing high-tech areas. A number of major corporations have a local presence, including General Electric, L3Harris, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon. Annual Security & Fire Safety Report
The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information, and imposes certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.
Florida Tech’s 2023 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech; and on public properly within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.
The numbers provided include crime statistics that were reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.
The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures; descriptions of prevention and awareness programs; related university procedures and important guidance; and other essential safety information.
