The Position - Site Manager / SSE: Sorby Hills Project
Boab Metals Limited is seeking an experienced and motivated Site Manager / SSE to join the Sorby Hills Project team. Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of all construction and mining activities for the Sorby Hills Project. This role carries mandatory appointment as the Site Senior Executive (SSE) and holds ultimate accountability for site safety, statutory compliance and construction and operational performance. You will lead multidisciplinary construction teams and contractors to deliver works safely, on schedule, to specification and within approved budgets, in accordance with Boab Metals'' governance frameworks, WHS systems and regulatory obligations. Key roles and responsibilities include:
* Provide overall site leadership for the Sorby Hills Project, acting as Boab Metals'' senior representative on site with full accountability for construction delivery and statutory compliance.
* Lead the end‐to‐end project lifecycle, from detailed planning and scheduling through construction, commissioning and handover to operations, ensuring seamless execution and operational readiness.
* Drive delivery of the project in accordance with approved scope, schedule, budget and quality standards, applying disciplined project governance and controls.
* Establish, maintain and continuously improve site governance, reporting, risk and control frameworks to support transparent decision‐making and performance management.
* Manage and coordinate EPC/EPCM partners, contractors and service providers, ensuring high performance, safety leadership and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
* Fulfil the statutory responsibilities of the Site Senior Executive (SSE), ensuring strict adherence to WHS, environmental, heritage and regulatory obligations across all site activities.
* Lead all site logistics and infrastructure planning, including accommodation, transport, materials management and supply chain coordination in a remote operating environment.
* Proactively identify and manage project risks, opportunities and change, implementing mitigation strategies to protect schedule, cost and safety outcomes.
* Foster and champion a safety‐first, values‐driven site culture, setting clear expectations for leadership behaviour, accountability and performance.
* Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with internal stakeholders, regulators, Traditional Owners, contractors and local communities.
* Collaborate closely with engineering, project controls, procurement and operations teams to ensure integrated execution and optimal project outcomes.
* Drive innovation, efficiency and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance constructability, reduce cost and improve delivery performance.
Skills and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
* Extensive experience (preferably 15+ years) in construction and project delivery within mining, precious metals processing, or major infrastructure projects or within construction facilities or remote mining project environments.
* Demonstrated experience in a senior site leadership role, leading large multidisciplinary and contractor teams in remote or regional environments.
* Proven capability managing construction execution for owner‐led or EPC/EPCM‐managed projects.
* Proven capability managing mining operations through the ramp up to full production.
* Strong understanding of project controls, cost management, scheduling and risk management.
* Demonstrated experience performing the role of Site Senior Executive (SSE) under Australian mining legislation, or the ability to meet statutory appointment requirements in Western Australia.
* Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels.
