This role is an entry level position providing operational Work Health and Safety (WHS) support to the business unit in liaison with the People and Safety Team and will have a heavy focus on new macadamia development activities and macadamia operations.As a company we are dedicated to investing and managing Australian agricultural assets and providing secure and healthy food production.
As a Safety Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our employees, visitors and contractors.If you are passionate about agriculture, committed to promoting safety through education and support for our farming teams, and willing to engage in hands-on work when needed, this role could be an excellent opportunity for you.Key responsibilities:This role reports to the Area Manager and is responsible for:Primary Tasks:Contribute to the continuous improvement of our Safety Management System.Identify the training needs of workers, ensuring all are provided with information and instructions, and are competent in all areas of their work so they can work safelyParticipate in the training of workersMonitor Work Health and Safety performance and incidents, including compliance with regulations, standards, policies, and proceduresParticipate in risk identification, control and management processes with staff and contractorsAssist with drafting and development of Safe Operating procedures and other operational safety processesAssist in the contractor engagement and management process, including completion of authority to commence work (ATCW) documentation for contractors, ensure a risk analysis has been completed, collate insurance and safety documentation, enter data in Safe Ag Systems and followed up when requiredEnsure all contractor onboarding and certifications are currentAssist with implementing corrective actions and audit findingsLiaise with People and Safety and participate in incident investigation and incident reporting when requiredAssist with return-to-work activities for injured/ill employeesReport any unsafe act or condition and implement steps within control to remedyMaintenance of safety registers, training and induction of staff, induction of contractors, and visitorsMaintain Safety records for the business unit within Safe Ag SystemsManagement of PPE supplies and requirementsParticipating in Toolbox meetings and managing process.Assist the Administration Officer with general administrative tasks, including preparing documents, entering data, maintaining records, and supporting internal communications on an ad hoc basisSupport the Operations Team by gathering, organising and maintaining information for reports, ensuring the accuracy and timely completion of required documentation on an ad hoc basisCarry out a range of office duties as reasonably directed, including ordering office supplies, maintaining stock levels, and assisting with other administrative functions to support the business on an ad hoc basisRequirementsThe following criteria is essential to be successful for the position:Certificate IV Workplace Health and Safety or relevant tertiary qualifications highly regardedQLD Return to Work Coordinator Certificate preferredWorking knowledge of WHS requirements and processesWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong time management and organisational skillsAbility to work autonomouslyMethodical, logical and practical working approachStrong computer literacy requiredGood attention to detail and a high level of accuracyAbility to communicate with others effectivelyAgriculture experience highly regardedBenefitsWe value our team and offer a range of benefits to support your success and well-being:Competitive pay to reward your hard workComprehensive coverage: Salary continuance and life insurance for eligible team membersAnnual bonus: Discretionary bonuses for eligible employees as a token of our appreciationHow to Apply:Submit your application, including a cover letter addressing the criteria above and your resume, via our website.
