About the role
The Ops Officer, or Horticultural Assistant, provides operational support to lecturers, technicians and students, ensuring the smooth delivery of teaching within the Agriculture, Water, Wine and Environment Program.
Working under general direction, the Horticultural Assistant will perform a variety of tasks that include assisting with nursery and landscape construction duties. Operate a variety of horticultural equipment and machinery and identify and collect plant or plant pest specimens.
The role requires professional interactions with others, along with a friendly, cooperative and team-oriented approach to shared responsibilities.
Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).

* Some intrastate travel may be required
* May be required to work outside at times during inclement weather conditions
