Position Summary
The mining general foreman is responsible for ensuring that mining activities align with production plans, budgets, and safety standards.
You will promote a strong safety culture, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and actively contribute to mine planning and design development.
This is a leadership role where you will coach, develop, and empower your team to achieve operational success.
It includes building, developing and maintaining the client relationship by ensuring the accurate monitoring of project progress and continually advising on the status of the project.
Main duties and responsibilities
Lead with a strong commitment to safety, ensuring the highest standards of safe work practices are followed at all times
Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to the mining team, helping to achieve operational objectives and career development goals
Manage day-to-day operations of the mining site, including overseeing production, resource allocation, and equipment usage
Develop and implement effective mine plans, coordinating with technical services, geology, and other departments to optimise performance
Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, safety, and regulatory standards
Actively monitor mine performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and implementing solutions
Manage and execute key projects related to operational efficiency, cost reduction, and resource utilization
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence within the mining team
Ensure alignment of production targets with long-term mine development strategies and quarterly forecasts.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 10 Years' working experience in the mining industry.
Preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience in a foreman role.
Demonstrated success in leading continuous improvement projects, preferably in an underground mining environment.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills essential.
Previous international experience working as an expatriate is an asset.
