About the Role
Working in the kitchen at Stellarossa Bernoth Centre, you'll be busy preparing delicious, fresh meals for dine-in, takeaway and delivery. You'll be involved in every aspect of the process, including prep, frying, grilling, plating, cleaning, organising, and ensuring all of the necessary checks and balances are taking place.
There's a menu that changes with the seasons, and lots of room to infuse some flair with daily and weekly blackboard specials and cabinet goodies. We also regularly hold events and provide catering for local events and businesses.
Tasks:
- Prepare, cook and plate dishes according to Stellarossa’s recipes and standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment.
- Support the owners in managing kitchen operations and ensuring food quality.
- Carry out ingredient prep with a focus on improving efficiency and workflow during busy periods.
- Comply with health and safety regulations.
- Ensure appropriate food preparation procedures are followed to supply meals that meet dietary and allergy requirements
- Assist the owners with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a cook, kitchenhand or chef.
- Strong knowledge of cafe / restaurant kitchen operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
- A responsible, reliable, mature and structured disposition
- High energy and productivity levels.
- Openness to learning and following systems.
