We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial leader to help drive our next phase of growth.
Core Responsibilities and Duties
Sales and Financial Management:Set and work to meet weekly, monthly and annual sales goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Monitor and analyse sales, profit, and expense reports to make data-driven decisions and forecasts.
Manage budgets, control costs (such as labour and inventory expenses), and handle cash management and banking procedures.
Implement pricing policies and plan promotional campaigns to drive revenue and attract customers.
Staff Management and Leadership:Recruit, hire and motivate staff to achieve sales and revenue goals.
Create and manage staff schedules and assign daily duties and responsibilities.
Motivate the team, provide ongoing coaching, conduct performance evaluations, and address any conflicts or disciplinary issues.
Foster a positive and safe work environment that aligns with the company culture.
Operations and Inventory Management:Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
Manage inventory levels, place orders with vendors, receive shipments, and conduct regular stock counts to prevent stockouts and minimise loss (shrinkage).
Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing, adhering to brand and visual merchandising standards.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and legal regulations.
Customer Service:Ensure that staff deliver high-quality customer service at all times.
Handle escalated customer complaints and complex issues professionally to maintain the store's reputation and ensure satisfaction.
Gather customer feedback to improve the overall shopping experience.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Leadership and Communication:Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for managing staff and interacting with customers.
Problem-Solving:The ability to think quickly and resolve issues under pressure, such as customer complaints or staffing shortages.
Organizational Skills:Strong time management and the ability to prioritize various tasks, from administrative duties to floor supervision.
Commercial Awareness:A solid understanding of sales data, financial reports, and market trends to drive profitability.
Experience:Ideally we require several years of retail experience, with a minimum of 1-2 years in a supervisory or assistant management role.
A qualification in retail or business management can also be beneficial.
Desirable Experience
Experience in Outdoor Power Equipment sales and marketing
Previous work in a mower shop or similar retail environment
