**What success looks like in this role**: 
- The customer training instructor is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, and directing the training of Service Desk associates and Unisys customers. 
- The role creates the materials necessary to train users how to use software. 
- The associate is ideally someone who has an instructional design background and therefore understands how to create materials that are effective in helping adults learn. 
- Ability to approach the problems that the software solves in a way that makes sense to the users. 
- Training materials range from slide decks to handouts for training sessions to self-study guides. 
The focus is on creating a situation where the user will find it easy to use the software. 
- The trainer needs to find a way to communicate what the product does and how it does it. 
The trainer's role is often the role of the super user. 
- Establishes training requirements, standards and schedules. 
- Instructs participants in both classroom and virtual environments. 
- Analyses training needs, prepares special courses and related manuals and acquires resources needed to carry out training programs. 
- Keep materials up to date and reflective of any product or client changes. 
- Keeps abreast of current and evolving research, methods, and techniques for training personnel to meet job requirements. 
- Continually evaluates effectiveness of training and necessary improvements.

**You will be successful in this role if you have**: 
- Key Qualifications 
- BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant field, 5-7 years of related professional experience in training and instructional design. 
- Strong understanding of how adults learn. 
- The ability to communicate complex topics with precision and understanding. 
- Excellent public speaking and facilitation skills. 
- Experienced with Word, PPT, and virtualization software. 
- Skilled in providing training via multiple media formats-online, in-person, web/teleconference.
