Laboratory Technician Traineeship

Programmed Skilled Workforce, in partnership with Leichhardt, is seeking a driven and motivated Laboratory Technician Trainee to undertake a Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques over a 24-month period.

Leichhardt is an independent, Australian-owned solar salt project headquartered in Perth with operations in northern Western Australia. Our sites include the Lake MacLeod salt operation near Carnarvon and the Eramurra Project, 55km outside Karratha.

The Role:

The Laboratory Technician Trainee will support the lab team in carrying out a range of tasks, including:

- Performing routine sampling and testing of materials/products
- Preparing, recording, and analysing data
- Assisting in maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment
- Supporting complex testing procedures under supervision
- Adhering to safety protocols and quality control systems

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone passionate about science and keen to build technical skills in a real-world laboratory workplace.

About You:

- Technical Aptitude - Basic familiarity with laboratory tools or willingness to learn

Essential Criteria:

- Completion of Secondary Education (Year 12 or equivalent)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency

Work Hours:

Initially the role will work 5D 2X, 4D 3X roster, 8.8hrs per day, then transition to a 4D 5X 5D 4X 5D 5X (Full Time) working 12 hours per day.

Lake MacLeod - Based in Carnarvon
This is a residential-based role - you'll be home after each shift.
