Senior Data Analyst
Location – Parramatta
Employment Type – Temporary Fulltime, till 30th June 2026 with potential for extension
Salary & Grade – Clerk Grade 9/10 $129, $142,665.00
Your role
The Senior Data Analyst performs a range of advanced data analytics functions within the division that supports performance and system monitoring including analysis, data quality monitoring and data management.
What You'll Do
Undertake high level analytics and prepare reports, briefings and presentations on business performance and specific business areas.
Perform advanced data transformation and data analysis to support performance measurement and division initiatives.
Design and develop data visualisation products in consultation with end-users to ensure design encompasses human-centred design principles.
Monitor data quality and take appropriate action for the remediation of data quality issues detected.
Validate the accuracy of analysis outputs and document underlying assumptions and methodologies to enable repeatable and transparent processes for data analysis.
Work with information technology experts to provide advice on infrastructure support required for data transformation and analytical tools.
Provide expert advice and support to policy areas on data related issues, particularly in data definitions and analytical approaches that can contribute to the development of business case capability and knowledge management for the Department.
Prepare written communications such as emails, minutes, briefs and technical documents to maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and to facilitate better understanding of data and its use in decision making.
What We're Looking For
Tertiary qualified in an analytical discipline who has significant experience in advanced data analytics.
An enthusiastic individual who can work to tight timeframes and deliver results, with a keen eye for detail, you have high standards for quality and accuracy.
A collaborative team member who enjoys brainstorming, has strong communication skills and is disciplined and organised.
Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated relevant equivalent professional experience.
Demonstrated experience in contemporary analytics tools (Oracle, Tableau, Alteryx preferable)
Experience in programming languages (SQL preferable)
