Empowering First Nations Children with Disability
We are seeking an experienced professional to provide vital support to First Nations children aged 0–9 with disabilities or developmental delays.
* Building Meaningful Connections: Establish strong, respectful relationships with First Nations families, ensuring their voices and preferences are at the forefront.
* Child Support Assessments: Conduct observations of a child in their natural environment (face-to-face and/or remotely via video conference) to assess their functioning and support needs.
* Collaborative Goal Setting: Work closely with First Nations families to establish meaningful goals & aspirations for their child and family and track progression toward goals.
* Community Linkages: Facilitate connections to mainstream services in the local area to improve children's access to the right supports and meaningful social participation.
This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and a passion for supporting vulnerable communities.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with Indigenous families, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their goals. They will be skilled in assessing child development, setting achievable goals, and connecting families with essential services.
