Reporting to General Manager the position is responsible for performing the following in a timely, accurate and efficient manner;
* Planning and Organising – plans staff rosters to optimize workload
* Coordinate the distribution of customer products in a timely, effective and efficient manner.
* Supervise the loading and unloading of freight ensuring damage reduction strategies are fulfilled
* Accurate and timely organization of staff
* Monitoring the work of staff for compliance with WHS standards and SCT processes.
* Staff Development & Training Plans
* Accurate completion of all required reports within allocated timeframes, including but not limited to, exception reporting, train service reporting and labour reports.
* Effectively utilises equipment and facilities to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective operation.
* Ensures adequate levels of appropriately trained employees are available to effectively maintain service levels.
* Anticipates and satisfactorily resolves all problems and issues regarding equipment and staff.
* Reports all Incidents, Near Misses and Hazards immediately to Branch Manager and completes the incident report book details.
* Upload all Incidents, Near Misses and Hazards to RAPID
* Work in a manner which will not endanger himself or herself, or any other person.
* Conduct yourself in a manner that ensures SCT is recognized as safe, reliable and a quality supplier of related services.
* Lead Risk Assessments, Inspections and operational meetings as required that affect the Parkes Branch.
* Monitoring the work of their staff for compliance with WHS standards and SCT processes.
* Develop safe Work Instructions
* Responsible for the Warehouse compliance and upkeep
* Attendance and completion of all training requirements allocated.
* Desire to upskill across other areas of the business to ensure optimum coverage of business requirements.
* Developing Others – Improves skills and effectiveness through clear feedback, mentoring, coaching, the provision of development opportunities and identification of potential in others

* Drivers License
* Forklift License or ability to obtain
* Transport industry working knowledge
* Demonstrated experience in a similar role
* 5 or more years’ experience in leadership or management
* Previous experience & knowledge of warehouse and rail transport industries
* Experience using SAP
* Experience in a freight scanning environment
* Excellent communication skills and analytical skills
* Ability to work autonomously and as a leader of a large team
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Managing workload, meeting deadlines and being organised at all times
* Resource allocation and management
* Conflict resolution
* Planning and Organising – plans and schedules effectively and maintains effective controls and attention to detail to ensure timely delivery of outcomes
* Teamwork and Diversity – works toward common goals in an open and collaborative and inclusive manner
* Understanding of WHS legislations as they pertain to this role.

* Certificate IV – Business Management / Leadership
