About the opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager, you'll oversee the Safety, Health, and Emergency Response functions at the Honeymoon Mine and develop and manage sound health and safety practices, ensuring alignment with key business drivers and promote compliance throughout the organisation.
This role is critical in helping Boss Energy surpass its statutory obligations in managing all Health and Safety aspects across its operations.
The role is open to SA based applicants only and offered on a FIFO basis from Adelaide or Port Augusta direct to site on 4:3 roster. We will consider DIDO from Broken Hill.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop and manage effective safety, health, incident management, investigation and reporting procedures which comply with all SA regulatory and company requirements.
* Manage, mentor and monitor the performance and development of the Health and Safety team including the medical & emergency team (MESOs).
* Assist the site leadership team in the planning and execution of H&S audit and inspection programs.
* Manage the injury management and return to work process for Honeymoon site.
* Establish and enforce safety, health, and emergency response standards, policies, and procedures to ensure full compliance with federal and state regulatory mandates.
* Oversee the implementation of the Boss Energy Integrated Management System (IMS), including the creation of relevant standards, initiatives, and procedures.
* Design and manage effective safety, health, incident management, investigation, and reporting procedures that align with both regulatory and company
* Develop strong working relationships at all levels and promote a culture of engagement across Boss Energy.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Experience in a similar role in mining or similar heavy industry.
* Extensive experience in all aspects of industrial health and safety.
* A detailed understanding of and practical experience with critical risk management.
* Proven success in leading and developing small teams.
* Completed ICAM - Incident Lead Investigator training or equivalent
* An in-depth technical knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislative requirements as they apply to mining and heavy industry.
* Experience in the development and implementation of workplace health and safety risk management practices for mining, mineral processing or heavy industry.
* Knowledge and experience in systems development and application for managing safety data, information, action management and risk.
* A degree or diploma in Health and Safety.
