Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Plant Operator/Labourer. This role involves undertaking various tasks related to town maintenance, road maintenance, and construction or other activities necessary to complete all Council works programs effectively and efficiently.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a positive image of the organization in the community, completing allocated work effectively and efficiently within expected timeframes, and actively contributing new ideas that enhance and improve the quality of work delivered to the community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake various tasks relating to town maintenance, road maintenance, and construction or other activities necessary to complete all Council works programs effectively and efficiently.
* Be actively responsible for maintaining a positive image of the organization in the community by attending the workplace (or notifying unplanned absences) and performing tasks to the best of one's ability.
* Complete allocated work effectively and efficiently within expected timeframes and to minimize the amount of re-work required.
* Actively contribute new ideas that enhance and improve the quality of work delivered to the community.
* Identify and report hazards and/or defects within the Shire that can be included in Council's works programs.
* Ensure all Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental practices are adhered to.
* Undertake and complete training and professional development as offered.
* Foster goodwill and cooperation between employees of various departments and work groups within the organization.
* Any relevant duty as directed within the scope of the position, level of training, and competency.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate will require:
* A current Police Clearance.
* Hold and maintain a manual C class driver's Licence.
* Construction White Card is mandatory prior to commencement.
