The role
Field Officer – Roads, Grade 3/4
Package: Salary $70,219.00 – $74,784.00 plus 17% leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation.
Location: Blackheath.
National Parks and Wildlife Service invites applications for this role to help protect NSW's environment and heritage.
Responsibilities
- Operate a range of NPWS road maintenance equipment, including graders, bulldozers, loaders, excavators, rollers, and trucks.
- Work under guidance of senior field staff in day‐to‐day tasks.
- Support road and fire trail maintenance and participate in rostered work, including up to five days away work.
- Carry out frontline firefighting duties and support roles as required.
Essential Requirements
- Australian Class C driver's licence and four‐wheel driving certification; MR licence required to progress to Grade 4.
- Demonstrated ability to safely carry out duties and obtain SafeWork NSW certification.
- Certification or ability to obtain (within 12 months) chainsaw operation to cross‐cut and basic tree felling; radio operation.
- Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain firefighting medical clearance and crew/member certification; willingness to fly in light aircraft.
- Must meet fitness assessment: task‐based fitness at moderate level within 12 months and annually thereafter.
