Fixed-term, full-time leadership role to provide effective leadership and management of nursing staff and services within Critical Care Services at Launceston General Hospital (LGH), in consultation with the Director – Department of Medicine (DoM).

Responsibilities
* Provide effective leadership and management of nursing staff and services within Critical Care Services at LGH, in consultation with the Director – Department of Medicine (DoM).
* Lead patient care in an inter-professional environment to achieve the defined objectives of the Critical Care Stream within the DoM.
* Collaborate with the Nursing Director Acute Medicine and Nursing Director Sub Acute and Ambulatory Services to align operational plans across DoM streams.
* In conjunction with the Executive Director of Operations and Performance provide leadership and support on accreditation, patient flow.
* Direct the operational activities of designated clinical services consistent with Hospitals North objectives and manage human, financial and material resources to achieve these objectives.
* Assist in the development and application of clinical management policies, protocols and guidelines to enable evaluation of services against best practice standards.
* Provide leadership and direction in research/education, continuous quality improvement and innovative redesign.
* Manage clinical and corporate risk within the established framework whilst ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.
* Support Nursing Unit Managers, Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Educators to facilitate initiatives to enhance the quality of patient care in all areas of responsibility.
Qualifications
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (essential).

Details of appointment
Fixed term, full time, day worker position, 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 1 February 2026. Hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applications may be used to fill subsequent vacancies.
Salary and benefits
Salary: $159,884 per annum. Employer 12% superannuation on top of this amount.
Salary packaging available. Post Graduate Allowance up to 10% (based on qualification type).
