Project Overview
Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha run by Woodside Energy. The project will process Scarborough gas and provide an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum, with additional domestic gas infrastructure to increase capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day. Bechtel has been selected to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning scope.
Job Summary
Lead field engineering team, managing work planning and packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing, coordination of system turnover and subcontracts. Ensure all field engineering activities operate safely, complete, and meet quality standards and project requirements.
Major Responsibilities
* On larger (PFE Tier II >$1B and/or >1500 craft) or more complex jobs, perform duties of the Project Field Engineer, coordinating all activities related to the area of responsibility and interfacing with all other operating sections of the job‐site.
Leadership / Supervision
* Engage proactively with team development through CPM, competency development/assessment and feedback.
* Develop and recommend construction engineering staffing plan for approval by the Site Manager or appropriate level of Project Management and prepare employee requisitions.
* Direct construction engineering activities of assigned staff, ensuring compliance with procedures.
Work Planning & Packaging
* Direct design of temporary construction facilities as required.
* Direct preparation of requisitions for field‐procured materials, material substitution, services, equipment.
Quantities
* Responsible for quantity take‐off, control, reporting and forecasting.
Safety / Quality Control
* Ensure zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
STR / Subcontract Coordinator
* Review and approve inspection test plans.
* Coordinate reviews of subcontractor submittals.
Education and Experience Requirements
* Bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13–15 years of relevant experience or 17–19 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
* University/B.S degree in a relevant engineering discipline is desired but may be waived if equivalent industry experience can be demonstrated.
* Minimum of 15–18 years' experience in Electrical and Instrumentation, with at least 8–10 years in a supervisory role.
* Expert understanding and working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
* Direct hire experience, preferably in a lump‐sum environment.
* Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures.
* Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
* Excellent communication and problem‐solving ability.
