SH Build specialises in remote construction in the Northern Territory and have an exciting job opportunity for a casual Camp Cook / Coordinator to join our dynamic and energetic team in Bathurst Island. The successful applicant must have a love for cooking, cleaning, be flexible, enjoy a challenge, and have complete attention to detail.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The position will include cooking and preparation of lunches and dinners, cleaning of camp common areas, rooms and onsite office facilities, stocktake and ordering of food, management of registers and documentation, assisting with unpacking of barge and airport pickups. Other cleaning may also be required. Camp accommodation, meals and charter flights in and out of Darwin are provided working a 2 week on, 2 week off roster.
POSITION CRITERIA
Experience Required
The below knowledge and skills are an essential requirement of the position:
* The ability to cook tasty and varied meals for up to 25 workers
* An understanding of the Food Act and the ability to maintain registers and undertake activities to comply with the Food Act
* Ability to clean rooms, common areas and other dwellings
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Able to prioritise to meet deadlines and able to take direction from Management
* Knowledge, willingness and ability to work in compliance with applicable Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality legislation/regulations
* Have a can-do attitude and think on your feet
* Must have a current driver's licence
Preferred Experience
The below knowledge and skills will be an advantage but are not essential:
* Previous experience in construction camps including coordination, cooking and cleaning would be an advantage but not essential
