The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) lead the sustainable development of Western Australia's regions and agriculture, aquaculture, food and fisheries sectors. These positions are assigned to the Mid West Development Commission (MWDC). MWDC is a statutory authority of the Western Australian State Government and is one of nine Regional Development Commissions, functioning under the provisions of the Regional Development Commissions Act
MWDC's role is to coordinate and promote economic and social development in the Mid West to maximise prosperity and wellbeing for the region. MWDC achieves this by providing the regional link between government policy and planning and regional aspirations and needs.
About the opportunities:
There are currently three (3) permanent full-time positions available for immediate filling.
* Level 4 Senior Executive Assistant
* Level 5 Regional Development Officer
* Level 6 Local Content Adviser
Level 4 Senior Executive Assistant
As a Senior Executive Assistant, you will provide professional secretarial, office management and executive support service to the CEO and Board, including managing schedules, meetings, travel, finances, correspondence, and stakeholder relations, while contributing to projects, policy development, and efficient office operations.
We are looking for individuals with:
* Demonstrated experience providing administrative support to senior executives in a fluid environment, including the ability to prepare high quality written reports and briefing papers with attention to detail.
* Well-developed workplace communication and organisational skills.
* The ability to interpret and contribute to corporate governance frameworks.
Level 5 Regional Development Officer
As a Regional Development Officer, you will support regional development by conducting research and analysis, managing strategic projects, coordinating funding and stakeholder engagement, and promoting investment and employment growth across the region.
We are looking for individuals with:
* Demonstrated experience in project management, including the ability to evaluate information, identify issues, form solutions, develop operational strategies and instigate plans to achieve desired results.
* Well-developed conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Well-developed communication skills.
* Experience working in regional Australia is desirable.
Level 6 Local Content Adviser
As a Local Content Adviser, you will promote, develop, and maximise opportunities for local suppliers, contractors, and jobseekers in the region by connecting with government, industry, businesses, Aboriginal Corporations, and employment and training stakeholders.
We are looking for individuals with:
* Knowledge, understanding and experience applying policies, plans and strategies and to effectively contribute to their delivery.
* Demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
* Highly developed ability to build and maintain productive relationships.
* Experience in a commercial setting and understanding of regional industry and business development is desirable.
