General Manager, Pastoral & Asset Management
The Business
Our client is an established agricultural investment and asset management company, supported by a leading global investment group. With an extensive portfolio and plans for significant growth, they focus on innovative livestock systems and natural capital initiatives to achieve sustainable long-term returns.
The Role
The General Manager is a key leadership position reporting directly to the CEO and part of the Senior Leadership Team. You will oversee the operational and commercial performance of the portfolio, leading a geographically dispersed team of Farm Managers and operational staff to meet strategic and financial goals.
This executive role requires strong commercial acumen, leadership skills, and operational expertise in large-scale grazing systems. You will be responsible for asset management plans, continuous improvement, pasture management, and integrating carbon and biodiversity outcomes.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Fostering a safety-conscious, high-performance, environmentally responsible culture and engaging with regional communities;
* Developing and implementing annual plans, budgets, CapEx, WHS, sustainability, and performance KPIs;
* Managing operational models, pasture use, and carbon tree regeneration to enhance productivity and asset value;
* Supporting new acquisitions and ensuring smooth asset integration into the portfolio.
Requirements
Minimum 10 years in leadership roles with extensive livestock and pasture management experience, including managing large-scale operations. Strong stakeholder relationship skills and effective communication are essential. Experience with carbon and biodiversity projects is advantageous but not mandatory.
Location
The preferred location is St George, QLD. Alternative arrangements may be considered for the right candidate, but a strong on-ground presence is required for effective leadership and team building.
