Job Title: Local History Librarian
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Local History Librarian to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing and preserving Bayside's physical and digital local history collection.
About the Role:
* The successful candidate will plan and deliver innovative projects and exhibitions that promote and recognise Bayside's rich local history and cultural heritage.
* They will also lead and support Council's local history digital and online presence, ensuring community access and promoting Bayside's rich local history and heritage.
In this role, you will work closely with local historical trusts and societies, service providers, and other key stakeholders to develop and implement effective strategies for promoting local history and heritage.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Acquire, preserve, manage access and deacquisition of Bayside's physical and digital local history collection in accordance with adopted policies and guidelines.
2. Lead and support Council's local history digital and online presence that enables community access and promotes Bayside's rich local history and heritage.
3. Plan and deliver innovative projects, initiatives and exhibitions at George Hanna Museum, Bayside Libraries and across Bayside's LGA that promote and recognise Bayside's local history and heritage.
4. Respond and provide advice and support to customers, organisations, local history trusts/societies and staff on local history and heritage matters.
5. Undertake procurement activities within delegation and provide input and advice to support Library budget decision making.
6. Create or participate in the development and implementation of practices, guidelines, policies and procedures to enhance service delivery.
7. Network with other libraries, service providers and other organisations to share information and resources and deliver initiatives.
8. Prepare grant applications in consultation with the Coordinator Library as required to support Community History programs.
Requirements:
* University qualifications recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association and/or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
* A current Working with Children Check Number.
* Current Driver's Licence Class C and/or willingness to travel between Bayside Library locations.
* Ability to work at all Bayside Libraries and outside normal hours from time to time.

* Competitive salary range: $98,342.21 - $110,143.22 per annum plus 12% superannuation.
