The role
What You'll Do As Manager Infrastructure and Emergency Response, you will lead a team of technicians across both sites to plan, deliver and continuously improve RBGV's infrastructure, fleet and emergency management functions. In this role, you will ensure the organisation maintains a high state of readiness through the development, implementation and ongoing review of Emergency Management and Business Continuity Plans, alongside overseeing the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the built environment for staff, visitors and contractors. Key responsibilities include providing strategic, evidence-based advice to support asset and facilities management, capital works planning, prioritisation and investment decisions aligned with organisational objectives. Managing contractor and service provider performance across maintenance, security, waste management and infrastructure services, you will ensure strong governance, value for money and compliance with relevant legislation, standards and policies. Your focus will be on driving proactive and preventative maintenance programs, monitoring asset conditions and site standards through regular inspections, and ensuring issues are addressed in a timely, risk-based and cost-effective manner. This role also involves embedding sustainable practices and initiatives that reduce environmental impact and support broader government and organisational commitments. Leading the function, you will foster a high-performing, inclusive and accountable team culture while building capability and supporting staff development. You will also play a key role in emergency preparedness and response arrangements, including participation in after-hours responses and fulfilling Chief Warden responsibilities as required. What You'll Bring The successful candidate will bring relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in infrastructure, construction, project or emergency management, supported by demonstrated experience leading teams in infrastructure and asset management within a complex operational environment. Proven experience managing infrastructure operations and responding to emergency situations is essential, along with a strong understanding of relevant legislation, codes and asset lifecycle management principles. Strong capability in the use of asset management, financial and project management systems is also required. Well-developed communication, consultation and engagement skills are critical, along with the ability to work effectively across teams and with diverse stakeholders. As an experienced and proactive leader, you will foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and service excellence, while supporting your team to deliver agreed outcomes aligned with organisational priorities.
