We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Maintenance Officer with a great team and customer service attitude for the 2026 season. You will be responsible for the presentation and upkeep of lodge grounds and infrastructure, freight and vehicle operation to ultimately ensure the 24 hour operation of the lodge and daily tour operations.
SEASONAL ROLE April End of September 2026
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Carry out maintenance to lodge and tours infrastructure and assets in a prompt and timely manner
* Conduct daily and weekly inspections of diesel generator, solar power system, and carry out routine services, repairs and manage the overall operation
* Conduct weekly inspections of tour and lodge vehicles and machinery to identify issues and carry out maintenance as required to ensure vehicles operate safely and reliably throughout the season
* Conduct daily and weekly inspections of lodge assets and infrastructure, carrying out maintenance
* Help coordinate the tradespersons as required ensuring that work carried out is pursuant to repair or maintenance agreements
* Carry out grounds keeping maintenance including fire prevention duties, keeping grounds free of rubbish, weeds & debris, and ensuring compliance with regulations
* Order maintenance stock and supplies and manage inventory control and logistics
* Conduct regular freight transport between Kununurra and Purnululu ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
* Ensure that maintenance books and manuals are clearly identified and available for every vehicle and piece of equipment.
* Help train and mentor new employees when required.
The successful applicant will:
* Mechanical trade qualifications, and/or experience in a similar role
* Have previous experience overseeing remote assets and vehicles
* Ability to troubleshoot, liaise with outside contractors, and follow instructions
* Be organised, have high attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise effectively
* Hold a current First Aid Certificate
* Have an Passenger Transfer Driver (PTD) Authorisation.
* Have a minimum MR driver's license with off-road driving experience
* Demonstrates a safety-first mindset
* Have basic computer skills
This role is a seasonal live in position from April through to the end of September, working 21 days per 4 weeks and 8 days off, with a minimum of 5 days off each month in town.
Meals and safari tent accommodation are provided on site, as well as the ability to explore the national park and surrounding Kimberley. Air and Road transfers are also provided in and out of the National Park from Kununurra.
The successful applicant must be available to commence in April 2026.
