Job Opportunity: Radiation Oncologist
This is a unique opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic Radiation Oncologist to join our expanding cancer service in Tasmania. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to provide quality specialist and subspecialty medical services to cancer patients within the limits of specified clinical privileges.
The successful applicant will work as part of a dynamic team, providing radiation therapy services to patients in Launceston and Burnie. The position involves working collaboratively with other specialists, radiation therapists, nurses, physicists, and engineers to deliver high-quality patient care.
The Northern Cancer Service provides comprehensive and integrated cancer care, offering state-of-the-art medical oncology, radiation oncology, and haematology services to a population of approximately 250,000 people across Northern Tasmania. The service operates radiation therapy sites in both Launceston and Burnie.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Provide quality specialist and subspecialty medical services to cancer patients
* Work collaboratively with other specialists, radiation therapists, nurses, physicists, and engineers
* Contribute to the development of new treatment protocols and guidelines
* Participate in multidisciplinary teams to discuss patient cases and plan treatment
Requirements:
1. Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia in the speciality of radiation oncology
2. Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists
3. Demonstrated experience in radiation oncology
4. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
