Job Description
Join us as a cook at a prestigious Private School in a new multi-million dollar facility in Marion, SA and make that your first step to a better life. The key to our success is our people. In this role, you will provide friendly, attentive, and efficient service through the preparation and cooking of a variety of meals, ingredient preparation, and food service for our valued residents. This is a hands-on position requiring you to prepare and cook meals for our valued residents, alongside our Head Chef & Second Chef.
Roster
5 days a week during term time
Example Shifts
* Monday to Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm
* Monday to Friday, 10:30am - 7:00pm
Roster may vary depending on functions, so flexibility is essential
Key Responsibilities Include
* Working alongside the Head Chef & 2nd Chef to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students
* Menu planning, cooking nutritious Homestyle meals: fresh baked morning/afternoon tea; hot lunches, soup, evening meal and desserts
* Consideration of special dietary requirements including allergies/intolerances, supplements
* Preparing high end food for various functions throughout the year
* Assisting with the management of small kitchen team, including training/development, motivation and encouraging staff productivity
* Forming and maintaining key relationships with residents, culinary team, client and management
* Strict adherence to Food Safety practices, HACCP and WH&S principles
Desired Skills And Experience
Key Essential Criteria
* Minimum of 2 years' full-time experience in a busy kitchen
* Strong working knowledge of Food Safety
* Valid Driver's License
* Passion for great food and excellent customer service
* Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Commitment to team development and leadership
* Pride in personal hygiene and professional presentation
