Aldebaran Contracting is seeking a reliable and experienced Camp Chef / Camp Attendant to support our remote civil construction project in the Northern Territory. This role is essential to maintaining a safe, clean, and well-functioning camp environment that supports our site workforce.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is organised, adaptable, and comfortable working in a remote camp setting.
About the Role
The Camp Chef / Camp Attendant will be responsible for preparing meals for camp residents while also assisting with housekeeping, laundry, and general camp maintenance duties. The role requires a strong focus on hygiene, food safety, and presentation, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a broader site team.
Key Responsibilities
Camp Chef Duties
* Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals in line with rostered meal times
* Plan menus that accommodate dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural considerations
* Maintain food safety standards in accordance with HACCP and company procedures
* Ensure kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and safe food handling at all times
* Manage food storage, stock rotation, and assist with inventory control
* Coordinate meal preparation schedules to align with site operations
Camp Attendant Duties
* Perform daily cleaning and housekeeping duties across accommodation, dining, and office areas
* Manage laundry operations, including washing, drying, folding, and linen changeover
* Clean and sanitise communal areas, bathrooms, and crib rooms
* Assist with dining room setup and clean-down before and after meal services
* Maintain cleanliness of laundry, storage, and amenities areas
* Restock consumables and report low stock or maintenance issues
* Support overall camp hygiene and presentation standards
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in a camp chef, camp attendant, or similar role (remote experience preferred)
* Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
* Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
* Good communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
* Willingness to work a roster in a remote location
