About the Role
We're seeking an engineer who is technically strong, practically minded and enjoys solving real mechanical challenges — someone who wants to see their designs operating on the workshop floor.
* Develop mechanical designs for bespoke machinery, assemblies and mechanisms, including conveyors, robotics interfaces and motion-controlled equipment.
* Produce detailed engineering drawings, BOMs and technical documentation.
* Perform engineering calculations and undertake material selection.
* Collaborate in the development of automated systems.
* Support fabrication, machining and assembly teams with clear, practical engineering advice.
* Participate in project scoping, customer meetings and design safety reviews.
* Assist with machine testing, troubleshooting and commissioning.
* Ensure designs meet safety standards and comply with regulations.
Requirements
To be successful in this role you will need:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* 3+ years' experience in machinery, automation, robotics, manufacturing or similar.
* Proficiency in CAD software.
* Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, machining, fabrication and assembly processes.
* Familiarity with GMP, WHS and preventive maintenance systems.
* Familiarity with risk analysis processes.
* Experience with pneumatics, industrial components and motion systems.
* Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Hands-on attitude and willingness to assist during builds and commissioning.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to work autonomously when required.
