Job Description: Lead Safety with Purpose – Join Mars as our HSE Manager at the Ballarat Chocolate Factory!
We're on the hunt for a passionate and experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to join our iconic Ballarat site – the home of our most loved brands including Maltesers, Snickers and M&M's! This is more than just a compliance role.
You'll be at the heart of shaping a culture where safety and sustainability are championed every day – driving real change that protects our people, our community, and our planet.
What's the opportunity? As our HSE Manager, you'll lead the charge in bringing our safety and environmental vision to life.
Working closely with senior leaders and your dedicated onsite HSE team, you'll develop and embed strategies that ensure we operate to world-class standards – with the autonomy and influence to make it happen.
You'll primarily focus on our Ballarat manufacturing site but also support safety initiatives across our broader business unit.
What will you be doing? Lead and develop a passionate team of 3 HSE professionalsDesign and implement a forward-thinking HSE strategy aligned to Mars' global and local standardsElevate site compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation – and go beyond to set new benchmarksDrive environmental and sustainability initiatives that make a real impactPartner with site leaders to set bold HSE goals and deliver measurable resultsChampion a culture of care, wellbeing and continuous improvement across the siteWhat we're looking for: Degree qualified in Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering or a related fieldProven leadership experience in manufacturing, FMCG or production environmentsA confident people leader who can inspire, coach and influence at all levelsSound knowledge of HSE legislation and best practicesA data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills and attention to detailA proactive, solutions-focused approach – with the courage to challenge the status quoWhy Mars?
