The Asbestos Laboratory (TAL) is a consulting, laboratory and training service provider offering asbestos assessor and NATA accredited asbestos laboratory analysis services from our Gold Coast, QLD facility.
We are looking for an experienced Asbestos Laboratory Analyst to join our small service focused team.
This opportunity is;

Your duties will include, but not be limited to;
* communicating with our clients
* logging batches of samples received ready for analysis
* analysis of air samples for respirable fibres – phase contrast microscopy
* analysis of building materials for asbestos (bulk ID) – stereo and polarised light microscopy
* preparation of non-homogenous samples – drying, weighing, sieving
* analysis of non-homogenous materials for asbestos (soil, aggregates, dust, ores etc) – stereo and polarised light microscopy
* compiling, quality control checking and issuing laboratory analysis reports to clients
* calibration and maintenance of equipment
* maintaining consumables levels
We are looking for somebody, who as a minimum;
* has experience working in a NATA accredited asbestos laboratory, preferably at a signatory level
* is self-motivated, with a strong focus and exceptional attention to detail when undertaking all tasks
* can work as part of a small team, but more importantly autonomously as your peers regularly travel as part of their role
* has excellent verbal and written communication skills
* has good computer literacy and the ability to use the full suite of Microsoft Office apps
The role also offers a variety of on-site training opportunities for those interested in learning more about asbestos outside of the laboratory.
