The Role
Reporting to the Regional Manager for NSW, our City Operations Manager would have the opportunity to spearhead the growth and proactively contribute to Wollongong’s success story. The City Operations Manager will oversee the degree operational function in Wollongong through the management of Neuron’s Ground Patrollers, Drivers and Mechanics. The ideal candidate has built and led a team before and is highly motivated to make Neuron a resounding success, both locally and across Australia.
What You’ll Do:
1. Perform basic administrative tasks, such as shift scheduling, rostering and staff deployment planning.
2. Create daily goals and strategies for the Operations team to follow to ensure a great customer experience for riders and compliance with council and Government requirements.
3. Spend time on the streets of Wollongong, helping the Ground Patrollers and Drivers deploy, rebalance and return e-scooters to designated parking stations.
4. Ensure the timely deployment of mobility devices at designated stations to support consumer demand as well as the timely retrieval of assigned e-scooters from consolidation areas.
5. Conduct analysis of city performance to constantly optimise the level of service provided to the community and improve business outcomes.
6. Manage the city's revenue and costs to ensure sustainable business growth.
7. See that the workshop team performs quality control and effective maintenance of e-scooters.
8. Hire and train new Operations staff members and conduct regular refresher training.
9. Ensure the Operations team adheres to Neuron’s Standard Operating Procedures and Workplace Health & Safety Procedures.
10. Be the face of Neuron to local stakeholders, including; city council, local businesses and the community.
What You'll Need:
11. Experience managing direct reports within an Operations team. Any experience or exposure to the mobility, transit, logistics or tech start-up space is highly advantageous.
12. A hands-on approach to leadership - our Operations Manager will need to be comfortable managing “in the field” alongside their team members from time to time.
13. Flexible work schedule with the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed, especially during new location launch periods.
14. Ability to lift, carry and manoeuvre 25-28 kg.
15. Self-starter who radiates positivity and possesses a “can-do” attitude.
16. Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a complex operational environment.
17. Strong communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
18. Passionate about delivering a seamless customer experience.
19. An open class Driver Licence.
20. You will need a suitable smartphone to perform this role (generally an Apple or Android device from or newer).
