In this unique dual-platform role, you'll take complete ownership of Shopify e-commerce projects — from technical consultation through to launch — while also contributing frontend expertise to sophisticated React-based applications as part of cross-functional teams.

Key ResponsibilitiesShopify Project OwnershipLead full-cycle Shopify builds, including scoping, development, and deliveryJoin client discovery calls and contribute to technical sales conversationsImplement custom themes, app integrations, and site optimisationManage timelines, risks, and stakeholder expectationsDeliver pixel-perfect builds that perform and convertReact Frontend DevelopmentBuild high-quality React components for complex web appsCollaborate with designers, backend engineers, and product managersFollow best practices in responsive design, accessibility, and performanceParticipate in sprint planning, code reviews, and QA processesTechnical SEO & Performance OptimisationImplement SEO best practices across both platformsOptimise Core Web Vitals and page performanceConfigure tracking tools (GA, Search Console, etc.) and structured dataEnsure code is clean, semantic, and production-readyCommercial Impact & GrowthIdentify upsell and optimisation opportunities in Shopify projectsStay up to date with Shopify releases, React ecosystem updates, and modern toolingMentor junior team members and support agency-wide knowledge sharing

With proven agency or fast-paced delivery experience, you're used to juggling timelines, communicating clearly, and producing work you're proud to ship — even when the pressure's on.
You're also highly organised, solutions-focused, and have a strong sense of ownership over your work.
Skills & Experience3+ years advanced Shopify development experience, including end-to-end project ownership from client consultation through to deliveryAdvanced React development capabilities, collaborating on large-scale applicationsStrong understanding of technical SEO and optimisation strategiesExceptional attention to detail with a commitment to pixel-perfect frontend executionCommercial mindset — able to align technical recommendations with business goalsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, both client-facing and technicalThrives in fast-paced, high-quality delivery environments — ideally agency or product studioExperience with performance optimisation tools, cross-device testing, and CMS integrationsDesirable: experience with headless CMS platforms (e.g. CraftCMS, Contentful, Strapi)
