About the Role
We are recruiting for a Test and Evaluation Manager for our federal government client in Canberra. The Test & Evaluation Manager will work as part of their Engineering Management team, responsible for maintaining systems and processes that oversee test & evaluation activities. The role reports to SO1 Engineering & Support services, ensuring the quality of T&E processes.
As a Test and Evaluation (T&E) Manager, your main duties will include:
1. Developing and completing the Test and Evaluation Strategy (TES)
2. Liaising with LTEA for ‘LTEA Accountable Unit’ audits and maintaining status
3. Ensuring T&E environments are ready for testing
4. Collaborating with Engineering, ICT Security, Configuration, and Change Management teams as required
5. Providing leadership, mentoring, and conducting independent reviews of T&E practices
6. Planning and coordinating T&E activities within architectural and design constraints to meet Land requirements
7. Developing, maintaining, and reviewing T&E management processes and procedures
8. Creating and managing T&E documentation such as test plans, procedures, and reports (including RTM)
9. Participating in SSWGs and CCBs
10. Engaging in project-related Mandatory System Reviews with a T&E perspective (TRRs)
11. Providing T&E Governance for Capability Manager Gate Review processes in the CLC, ensuring Integration Certification as per the Land Integration Framework (LIF)
12. Extensive experience with TRAMM (L) and LMSM processes
13. Providing leadership, mentoring, and review of T&E practices
14. Complying with all Commonwealth policies, especially regarding Equity, Diversity, Industrial Democracy, and Work Health and Safety
15. Performing other services as directed by SO2 Engineering
It is highly desirable that candidates demonstrate the following:
* Bachelor degree (4+ years or higher postgraduate) in Software Engineering, eligible for Institution of Engineers membership
* OR Bachelor degree (3+ years or higher postgraduate) in IT (Software), eligible for technologist membership
* Chartered Professional Engineer or Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) (preferred)
* Over 10 years of experience in Software, preferably in Defence Sector or Industry
* Experience with design, build, and test functions of C4I Systems, Networks, and Software
* Knowledge of engineering design, systems operation, and safety policies
* Proven leadership in multi-discipline teams
* Experience with Defence standards and processes
