Senior RIS/PACS Administrator
About the Role:
Quantum and MedScan Radiology Group is seeking an experienced Senior RIS/PACS Administrator to join our Technology & Clinical Systems team. You will play a critical role in supporting the ongoing development, configuration, and delivery of our RIS and PACS solutions.
This is a senior, hands-on role suited to a qualified radiographer with strong exposure to enterprise radiology systems and a passion for clinical workflow optimisation, system stability, and stakeholder engagement.
You will play a key role in supporting, enhancing, and strategically evolving our RIS/PACS environment during a period of significant growth, transformation, and technology modernisation.
Additional hours at the weekend are available as a Radiographer if you wish to maintain your AHPRA registration.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ownership of PACS operations, configuration, optimisation, and support
* Manage and maintain RIS/PACS applications, integrations, and upgrades.
* Strong hands-on experience with enterprise PACS platforms (Sectra highly regarded)
* Support DICOM workflows, HL7 interfaces, and modality worklists.
* Experience working in complex, multi-site radiology environments
* Supporting the radiology users, resolving technical issues related to PACS, RIS, modality connectivity, and related systems.
* Monitor system performance, storage utilisation, and data integrity.
* Ensure reliable image archiving, retrieval, and routing functions.
* Coordinate with vendors and IT teams for system patching, enhancements, and issue resolution.
* Deliver PACS/RIS training and best practice education to clinical and support staff.
* Ensure compliance with organisational policies, data privacy laws, and cybersecurity standards.
What we are looking for:
* Degree in Medical Radiation Science, and experience in a PACS-related role.
* Solid understanding of medical imaging workflows and informatics systems, including RIS, PACS, DICOM, and HL7.
* Proven ability to lead and support RIS/PACS projects from initiation through to delivery, including configuration, testing, training, and documentation.
* Experience maintaining data integrity across systems, including RIS, PACS, HL7 interfaces, and patient/referrer portals.
* Demonstrated success working within an IT support model and delivering against SLAs and business continuity standards.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, executives, and vendors.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced healthcare environment.

Desirable Experience:
Prior experience with Sectra PACS, Karisma RIS, or PACS RIS systems will be highly regarded. Exposure to large-scale imaging IT projects or system and data integration.
