The Role
The SASR Security Advisor will interpret and provide advice within the Physical Security function based on legislation, policy and procedures. They will undertake specialist research and analysis, conduct reviews, assessment, investigations and perform procedural and administrative support work to achieve results.
The Security Advisor may coordinate and contribute to the work of a team consistent to a work plan and provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members. They may be a team coach or supervise a team and be accountable to set work priorities, allocate work, and manage workflows and performance. They are expected to be capable of reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by others.
The APS 5 Security Advisor will be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
About our Team
The Security at SASR consists of members across the APS and military personnel (both full time and reservists). The Security cell ensures that physical security measures are applied across the garrison.
Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has extensive experience and working history in the area of physical security advice and management. Demonstrated experience and knowledge in applying the Defence Security Principles Framework would be preferable and the ability to manage workloads within a high tempo work environment is required.
