Visy Board O'Connor is a leading corrugated cardboard manufacturing facility serving WA and national markets. Reporting to the State General Manager, the Operations Manager will oversee all aspects of site operations including safety, production, quality, industrial relations, HR, maintenance, and continuous improvement. This hands‐on role ensures the plant operates efficiently, safely, and in line with Visy's high standards.
What You'll Do
* Lead and manage the production process and plant personnel to meet operational and safety targets
* Ensure compliance with HSE, quality, and regulatory requirements
* Manage budgets, payroll, conversion costs, and operational KPIs
* Oversee quality systems and technical support to maintain high customer satisfaction
* Implement continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and process optimisation
* Develop, mentor, and manage site staff, including industrial relations and engagement with unions
* Provide accurate reporting across all operational areas (safety, quality, production, cost, productivity)
What You Will Bring
* Proven leadership and management experience in manufacturing operations
* Strong knowledge of HSE, industrial relations, quality, and production processes
* Experience in P&L management, budgeting, and KPI reporting
* Hands‐on approach to problem‐solving and continuous improvement (Lean manufacturing)
* Strong stakeholder management, communication, and team development skills
* Experience in corrugated board manufacturing highly regarded
