Site Engineer - Tier 1 Building Contractor Canberra
We are seeking a Site Engineer to support the delivery of a major building project. The role requires a disciplined approach to planning, coordination, and on-site execution, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and stakeholder alignment. You will work closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager to maintain control of daily activities, resolve issues, and ensure work is carried out to the required standard.
Primary Purpose of the Role
To provide technical, planning, and coordination support to the site team, ensuring construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements, design intent, and company systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate daily site operations and support the Site Manager in maintaining progress against program.
* Review drawings, identify discrepancies, and assist in resolving design and constructability issues with consultants and subcontractors.
* Monitor and document quality, including inspections, ITP compliance, and verification of completed works.
* Assist with subcontractor management: pre-start coordination, tracking progress, confirming outputs, and supporting commercial administration.
* Maintain accurate records including site diaries, quality documentation, safety observations, and progress reporting.
* Support planning and sequencing activities, ensuring upcoming works are prepared, understood, and risk-assessed.
* Undertake procurement support tasks such as preparing scopes, reviewing shop drawings, and assisting with cost tracking.
* Contribute to risk reviews, method statements, and safe work planning in alignment with the project's WHS requirements.

Skills & Experience
* 2–5+ years' experience as a Site Engineer within commercial or residential building.
* Strong understanding of construction sequencing, quality requirements, and subcontractor management.
* Ability to interpret drawings, identify risks, and support the site team in delivering a controlled and predictable outcome.
* Competent with construction software, documentation systems, and site-based reporting.
* Collaborative mindset, dependable follow-through, and a structured approach to work.
