In this role, you will oversee financial matters for a designated school. You will be the lead business partner for the school providing finance management advise that aligns with the school and faculty strategy. The role is supported by an Associate Finance Manager (AFM) that will help you on the day-to-day activities including research account management, policy compliance and budget & forecast preparation. Your key responsibilities will be to: engage and build strong relationships with stakeholders, facilitating dialogues to address concerns and gather feedback, ensuring alignment with accounting best practice and university policy contribute to shaping business decisions by the school executive, addressing financial capability and performance co-ordinate the annual budgets and monitor the financial performance by preparing accurate quarterly forecasts and monthly management analysis coordinate the management of individual research accounts including financial advise, acquittals and general queries plan the day-to-day work with the AFM by providing guidance and a collaborative environment that builds team spirit prioritise workplace health and safety and ensuring consistent alignment with university guidelines and best practices. About you strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, along with the ability to prioritise workload during busy periods excellent interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills, including effective management of stakeholder relationships, commitment to ensure service excellence demonstrated experience in prioritising your own and your team workload to meet competing and ad hoc demands.
