The IT Delivery Manager works closely with the Director, Technology Delivery to deliver the transformation program to the AER. The role acts as a bridge between IT and business, coordinating digital development activities to ensure the transformation program plan is effectively executed and dependencies and risks are managed.
The IT Delivery Manager leads and coordinates data and digital transformation initiatives. The IT Delivery Manager is a driven and talented professional with well-rounded data and digital program development skills, has a track record of managing a portfolio of projects, understanding values drivers, and supporting program delivery. The IT Delivery Manager builds effective relationships with key business stakeholders and works closely with change and communications teams to effectively schedule and sequence projects and manage expectations. They will also help develop the organisational program delivery competency within the branch and guide and mentor less experienced staff.
Responsibilities
Operating under broad direction and exercising a considerable degree of independence, as the IT Delivery Manager, you will:
* Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of data and digital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
* Determine and document project requirements and outcomes to ensure program success.
* Liaise with the Program Management Office (PMO) to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of data and digital projects and report on progress to senior management.
* Ensure effective resource management where required including personnel, budget and technology.
* Coordinate day-to-day activities and tasks associated with the program, ensuring that all components are progressing as planned.
* Negotiate, engage, and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on the transformation program.
* Assess and select the appropriate digital technologies and platforms that will drive the transformation. Ensure seamless integration of new digital tools with existing systems and processes.
* Identify and lead innovative solutions and use professional judgement to evaluate ambiguous or incomplete information.
* Work closely with the PMO to ensure that all projects within the program adhere to established standards, guidelines, and best practices.
* Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships to achieve project and AER outcomes.
* Understand and apply complex policy and technical concepts to solution design, development, and implementation.
* Act as a point of contact between the program team, stakeholders, and external parties, facilitating collaboration and information sharing.
Qualifications
In order to succeed in the role, you will have:
* Demonstrated experience leading a team or similar role in a fast-paced and large complex people‐centred organisation.
* Experience in managing and coordinating digital projects and transformation programs along with deep understanding of program planning, project sequencing, and business process optimisation.
* Ability to develop and manage day‐to‐day program activities including multiple project coordination, timelines, and budgets coupled with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Understanding of digital technologies, platforms, and tools along with ability to work with project management software and reporting tools.
* Ability to organise meeting, events, and training sessions along with proficiency in maintaining detailed documentation and records.
* Experience in supporting and mentoring colleagues across the agency in best practice communications and/or stakeholder engagement activities for diverse audiences.
Benefits
Salary: $127,908 to $141,555 (plus 15.4% superannuation)
