The successful applicants must have demonstrated experience in productive preparation, repair & application of decorative products and be able to carry out a range of painting, redecoration and general maintenance tasks in government, commercial and private properties.Duties include:The Incumbent will be responsible for:Preparing surfaces as required for application of decorative products.Applying paint or other materials, such as stains, lacquer, enamel, oil, varnish, 2-pack or texture coatings using brushes, rollers or spray.Wallpapering, measure, cut and apply wallpaper or fabric to walls.Assembling and erecting scaffolding.Liaising and working with all other trades as required.Ordering paints and all equipment required for each job.Planning and organising work, material and equipment according to priorities, the size and complexity of the job, and the need to keep scheduled appointments.Placing drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering.Preparing surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, fixing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces.Cleaning equipment and work areas.Developing sound business relationships with clients and members of the team.Developing strong working relationships with suppliers and utilising them for technical support & advice where relevant.Managing & resolving any issues quickly and efficiently to enhance the customer relationship.Providing excellent customer service to ensure the job is an excellent reference for future work.QualificationsFormal qualifications as a Painter and at least 1 year of demonstrated experience (or) 3 years of demonstrated experience.Strong understanding of painting techniques and materials.Ability to work efficiently and unsupervised.Ability to work well in a team.Excellent communication and customer service skillsReliable transportationApplication requirementsOnly shortlisted candidates will be contacted.Application questionsWhich of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
