Who are we?
ORDE is a rapidly growing non-bank residential and commercial mortgage lending business committed to elevating Australian specialist lending standards. We provide comprehensive product solutions and deliver leading service levels, leveraging digital capabilities and deep industry experience.
We are passionate (and a bit obsessed…) about being disruptive and pushing hard to improve the experience and results for mortgage brokers. Our purpose "Built for Brokers" is clear and simple and defines our entire strategy (delivering better experiences, more value and opportunity, anticipating more needs and communicating more solutions, for brokers and their customers).
What are we looking for?
At ORDE, we're growing our construction portfolio and need an experienced operator to lead end-to-end construction settlements. You will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end settlements process, managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and champion continuous improvement in operational practices to enhance service delivery and team performance.
In addition, you will ensure progress payments are accurate, timely, and fully controlled from instruction through to completion. You will be the operational anchor who lifts quality, speed, and stakeholder confidence across every claim.
Your Opportunity Is To
* Lead, mentor and develop the Construction Settlements Officers within the Construction Settlements Team.
* Oversee the preparation and review of loan offers and mortgage documentation.
* Liaise with banks, solicitors, brokers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth settlements.
* Resolve complex settlement challenges and escalate as necessary.
* Ensure all settlements are booked, arranged, and completed accurately and on time, whether electronically or otherwise, across all states.
* Manage daily funding requirements and settlement figures, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.
* Own the progress payment lifecycle and provide support to the team by approving builder claims they prepare.
* Assist the team to interpret valuer and quantity surveyor reports, assessing scope, stage percentage and contingencies as required.
* Oversee the aging construction book, ensuring the team proactively track builds approaching or exceeding their contracted timeframes, identifying stalled or at-risk files early and coordinating with stakeholders to drive timely progression or resolution.
* Ensure exceptional service is delivered to all parties involved.
* Monitor pipeline and team performance, providing regular reporting to leadership.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, settlement procedures, and technology platforms.
* Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency, broker and customer experience.
* Support the implementation of new systems and digital capabilities within the settlements function.
