**About the facility**

Barwon Health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South West region. It is one of Victoria's largest regional health service with one of the busiest hospitals in the state, University Hospital. We serve over 500,000 people through the efforts of over 8,000 staff. We provide care at all stages or life and circumstance through a wide range of services from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care, and subacute/rehabilitation. Care is provided to the community through over 28 key locations throughout the region.

Barwon Health's McKellar Centre is located only minutes from the centre of Geelong. The centre is a 100-bed inpatient facility offering rehabilitation in Palliative care, Geriatric evaluation and management, Stroke, Trauma, orthopaedic and amputee service. The McKellar Centre is situated on a vibrant community asset with parkland surrounds and incorporates state of the art equipment.

**About the role**

As the Allied Health Assistant (Grade 2) you will contribute to the care of Barwon Health patients and clients through the delivery of patient-centred, evidence-based Physiotherapy services, in designated clinical areas, as directed by, and under the supervision of, the treating Physiotherapist.. You will also undertake a range of non-clinical duties that support the provision of Physiotherapy services.

Other duties of your role include, but not limited to:

- Organise appropriate aids and equipment as directed by the treating physiotherapist and according to physiotherapy procedures to ensure clients have access to appropriate aids and equipment.
- Identify and address personal training and development needs to ensure continuing professional development.
- Actively participate in the inter-disciplinary team approach through communication and supporting patient care plans.

Essential: Can you please list Barwon Health's values?

Essential: One of the following qualifications: Certificate III or IV or higher qualification as an Allied Health Assistant or equivalent, Bachelor Degree or Post Graduate Masters in a relevant health science area or Undergraduate Physiotherapy Student 3rd or 4th year or equivalent
Essential: Eligible for Physiotherapy Assistant membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association
Essential: Knowledge and skills appropriate to level of experience as an Allied Health Assistant
Desirable: Current Australian driver's licence allowing unrestricted driving in Victoria
Desirable: Experience working within a public health care setting
Desirable: Experience working with clients around exercise in a health setting
Essential: I agree, to commence employment, I am required to meet Barwon Health's immunisation requirements (including full Covid-19 and Influenza vaccination) set out in the Staff Immunisation Policy. I acknowledge that meeting this requirement is mandatory and a condition of employment subsequently offered.
